I was just eating an ice pop and my lip froze to it. You know, the way the kids’ tongues stick to the flag pole in the movies? Normally when this happens (I eat a lot of ice pops, it happens a lot), normally I wait it out or get some warm water.
I don’t know why, but I was very impatient tonight, so I just pulled. Yanked it right off. And it took skin with it. Yes—there was a nasty white lump of skin on the ice pop. And my lip was bleeding.
It’s the first ice pop related injury I’ve ever had. Plus, the acidic strawberry content of the ice pop stung the sore area, so the whole experience was ruined.
I feel I have to share this story for the benefit of others. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I hope I can help make the world a better place.
